Spiritual Life

The journey of our inner life is best experienced when encouraged and supported by those around us. At Immerse there are opportunities to dive deeper into parts of ourselves, neighbors, society, and nature around us that too often are undernourished. In the spirit of Christ, all faiths and backgrounds are welcome. We value open dialogue and being a place of peace to ask hard questions.

Opportunities to Participate

Vesper Prayer

We take a moment each week to dedicate the upcoming days to the watchful care of our Creator God. We take time to acknowledge what we are grateful for and ask for peace and wisdom for the week ahead. This practice leads us to a place of rest and trust as we tackle the joys and challenges of the week ahead. Currently, we gather weekly at 5:00 p.m. on Monday evenings to sit together, pray, and rest. All are welcome.

Book Study

The Immerse community book club happens every year in early Spring. Our friend Byron Borger of Hearts and Minds bookstore kicks off conversation with a lively book review. A book is chosen, and then the club meets once a week for approximately 4-6 weeks. The topics are usually challenging and provocative, including issues of justice, ecology, and spiritual growth.  Past books have included Native: Identity, Belonging, and Rediscovering by Kaitlin B. Curtice.

Wisdom Gathering

The intention of the Wisdom Gathering is for people of diverse cultural and religious backgrounds to seek and share together in the gift of wisdom from a variety of traditions. Wisdom comes to us in the forms of Holy Scriptures, stories, parables, poems, art, creation, and more. This gathering aims to develop our capacity to taste, see, and feel the truth that is being offered to us about the Divine, ourselves, and our world. Currently, we gather at 7:00 p.m. on the fourth Wednesday of each month.

Enneagram Workshop

Once a year, Immerse offers a short 4-week class on the Enneagram. Each class is about 30 minutes long and involves a small amount of homework. The Enneagram is a wonderful way to discover more about yourself, your personality type, and how to become a better communicator with others of different personality types. Attendees share their discoveries and learn how to use the information to live their lives in a more empathetic way towards themselves and others. They are also encouraged in their uniqueness to approach life in a fulfilling way.
