Bring any supplies you will want for study, such as note cards, notebooks, paper, binders, etc. These may also be purchased quite easily at local stores once you arrive.
What are the expectations for English students?
Because most of Immerse’s English classes are intensive in nature, students should expect to work hard in classes and to have approximately one hour of homework per class per day. All of this is to help students meet their goals of improving their English for professional or academic reasons, or in preparation for the TOEFL. A student’s improvement in English is strongly related to his or her effort and practice. See Student Life.

What is your Inclement Weather Policy for English Classes?
To accommodate all students involved, classes will be held as scheduled regardless of an individual’s attendance. Teachers will assist students in knowing what was missed if absent. However, sometimes snow and ice conditions command the situation. If English classes are cancelled due to weather, a notification will be posted in an obvious manner on the website home page.
If you would like to track area weather, you will find more information on WGAL TV or at their website, where you may sign up for email/text alerts.
In the event of extreme weather other than snow/ice, such as flooding or tornadoes, the above can be a guide, but a decision will be at the discretion of the Director of Academic Services and faculty involved. Every effort will be made to notify students, but this will not always be possible. If weather causes excessive cancellations (more than two classes/meetings), makeup classes/meetings will be held according to the schedule of the teacher(s) and student(s) involved. For one-on-one sessions, the teacher and student may arrange a makeup session according to their schedules.
What Happens if I Miss Class? What is your Absence Policy? How are makeup classes arranged?
To accommodate all students involved, classes will be held as scheduled regardless of an individual’s attendance. Other than one-on-one tutoring sessions, makeup classes are not possible. Teachers will assist students in knowing what was missed if absent.
One-on-one sessions will only be rescheduled if at least 12 hours’ advance notice is given by the student.
If illness or extreme circumstance cause excessive absences (more than eight classes or two weeks), and students have given advanced notice and have kept Immerse informed regularly, the English School will assist the student in shifting enrollment to another session when health or conditions improve, retaining credit for classes.
