- Why Immerse?
Below is what two former residents shared about Immerse International:
A Home Away from Home
The welcoming atmosphere at Immerse International made us feel at home right away. We have the fondest memories involved with this place. What we enjoyed most about Immerse are the variety of people we got to know. Beyond the residents and staff, there was a range of motivated volunteers. Among the latter, Connie became an especially close friend and motherly mentor. She made the greatest impression on us.
Connie helped our cook and spent time with the residents, bringing a kind of love and warmth that gave dinnertime its very own charm. Because her son had lived in Germany, we shared some similar interests in German-American relations.
We spent free time together going grocery shopping at Aldi, sharing Lancaster County’s most delicious French fries at Five Guys, and rummaging at bookstores. All this made us grow closer. Connie turned from an awesome volunteer to an awesome friend.
Our most cherished memory is the invitation for dinner at her house. Meeting her husband and being embraced as part of her life outside her volunteer service taught us about true values. We feel privileged to be her friends and hope we will stay in touch for a long time. We treasure every email we exchange with Connie from one part of the world to another.
