Meet the Staff and Faculty
Ed McManness, Executive Director
I have spent almost 20 years overseas in Europe, West Africa, and Central America. I loved making good friends in each place and learning to understand and appreciate cultural differences. I am very grateful for the ones who helped and encouraged me through the language learning process (twice, with French and Spanish) as well as helping me to gain further cultural insights. Here at Immerse International, I now very gladly get to do the same for others!
I started at Immerse when my husband, son and I moved to Lancaster County in the summer of 2014. I enjoy keeping things in the office organized and running smoothly, but my greatest joy is spending time with my son, David. When not in the office, I like to explore the wonders of Lancaster County, do handicrafts (ones that can be completed in one sitting), and spend time with my family. I also enjoy life at the beach.

I love being at Immerse International because of the physical setting here: the open spaces that surround the property. I also like the people here. Everyone is very kind and responsive which has made it a pleasant place to live. It’s also convenient living in an “all in one” place which has all the facilities we need: computers, gym, laundry facilities, student kitchen, TV, etc. Another thing that is really great is the diversity of students at the house: from Africa, Asia, Europe, Latin America and the US.
